Gamer girls
Hey I havent posted here anything yet but now I'm a bit corious. So im often getting the question "why are you pretending to be a girl?" and I'm so tired of it. Is this so popular that someone pretends to be a girl or do I look like a guy? xD

Some people say the boys usually pretend to be girls and the girls pretend to be boys. I don't really know or care much.

Yes.

i have about 40 girls on steam. i know they are 100% girls because those girls are using mic. If a boy without mic would say "i am a girl", that would not be the true.

steam profile avatar / image / name don't really matter

Experiences probably. Gaming has been male dominated for quite long(pretty much still is for some genres) and traps/catfishing has become pretty common so people generally tend to be suspicious of women.

Why would you want people to know your gender anyway?

A lot of guys actually pretend to be girls online. I just figure it is because they are strange. Anyone can hate me for it if they want but yeah I said it and it is my opinion on the subject.

I reckon it has to do with maturity.
Basically most young teens or even mid/late teens, that play games, are well... not very versed in manners, they are also confused.. (body and mind, is having big changes in those years)

I have played a few games and mmo´s were the majority were actually female, even +40 on avarage in some of them.... It really has to do with your sphere of influence.. what do you play, how old are you, whom do you interact with, etc etc..

At the end of the day however... why do you care? you can just ignore people anyway.

Gaming is not male dominated, it is actually pretty close to being 50/50
Genres, platforms, etc ofc do play in.. ie. I knew many females that play cRPG´s or simulations (atm I am playing Planet Zoo, that is pretty popular with the females) whereas I don´t see many female players in HoI4..

Sometimes girls tell people they are guys so they'll get left alone. It never hurts to lie a little to avoid conflicts.

Either way, unless your using a mic, let people think what they will.

My big sis used to exclusively play the Sims, Baldur's Gate, Final Fantasy games, other JRPGs and Mario games.
