GameRant - most...
...useless gaming news site?

Almost every article I've seen from that site comes across as shallow, lacking detail, depth, and most importantly any news of value. The writers seem to make at least three statements per article that is demonstrably false, inaccurate, or just plain dumb.

One recent article discusses how the Switch has an advantage over the Steam Deck because it will have Nintendo's library available to it. Hmm, okay, whatever. The author then goes on to state:

"Considering the number of games that came from the PS4 to PC, the Steam Deck is likely to have a much bigger catalog to pull from, even for those who might have played those games on console before the handheld hit the market."

Wait, because of the games ported from the PS4 to PC the Steam Deck will likely have a "much bigger catalog" - does this guy smoke crack? As if PC gaming descended from and is dependent upon PS4 games. What about all of the games that predate or didn't originate on the PS4...???

He further compounds the idiocy by stating:

"Yet, it still can't compete when it comes to being able to get into the shoes of Mario, Link, or Samus."

Okay, um get this - if I wanted to play ONLY Nintendo games, sure a Switch is what I'd purchase. However, if I wanted to play practically every PC game I own (a much larger library than all of the Nintendo games from ALL of their platforms combined) - the Switch can't do a thing for me. You see how that argument works both ways?

I guess there is a reason they don't allow commenting on their articles, because although I keep telling my phone to block their articles I get a new one every week - and it is JUST AS stupid as this one is.

The Deck is not directly competing with the Switch.

I know that, you know that, but GameRant writers apparently are denser than most.

I believe they are dedicated to clickbait articles and while I do ignore most of them when they show up on my phone - they sometimes get me when I can see the headline and KNOW the following article will be BS and still read it. So, in that respect, I guess they're doing their jobs lol.
