I prefer my nerd merch to be subtle
I'd rather have an in-universe logo than a marketing one.

I'd rather people ask "wait is that from..." than have a giant picture of a character, with the IP name on it just in case you missed it.

This goes for wallpapers and stuff too.

No such thing as nerd stuff anymore, if it has merch it's mainstream

I buy normal stuffz, no need to show off my power level. Its so pony high that most normies wouldn't understand.

I was more or less the same way until I got a Star Wars coffee mug from my brother once that was designed to look like something from a cafeteria on the Death Star. Then I kind of took of collecting licensed or otherwise limited coffee mugs. I have something like a dozen of them; I don't want too many because they take up space so I'm always picky about them.

There was kind of a surge once people figured out I was collecting them where people would get me one from my birthday or something, though they were usually more of the "HEY LOOK EVERYONE I'M A SONIC THE HEDGEHOG MUG" variety. Which I'm ok with, but the ones I pick out myself are more subtle.
