First i need to buy the burger. That stated though, i'd never go to such a place when i can get a big box of two dozen frozen burgers, buns and some cheese slices for practically the same price as a full McDonald's meal.

this way i can eat as many as i would like to without having to fork out an additional £20-£30 from McDonald's.

Frozen burgers? That's savagery on a totally new level! :smasher:

As for how many burgers I'd order: one. They're not really that great that I'd binge eat there.

Junk food is junk food, why there are complaints about how one is more processed and unhealthy than the other makes no difference.

A burger is just Beef. Bread. Lettuce. Cheese. Tomato.

How is that considered junk food?

Usually one. Sometimes two of the cheap ones if I'm not getting fries or anything.

Well, Xautos confirms, breaded and fried Doritos with whipped cream no worse than hamburgers.

Because in many fast food joints they're not just that. You have mayonnaise and other sauces laden with salt and sugar, and depending what you get there's also strips of bacon. Then there's aroma enhancers, the bread is high on sugar etc. and the sides are the biggest part of the "junk" food. Sugared soda and fries are what most get -> plenty of energy, little to no nutritional value when you consider vitamins etc.

It also varies from country to country. If you look at the nutritional values of a Big Mac in the US and in Finland for example, the Finnish version has 48 kcal less energy which comes mainly from being a bit lighter on fat and carbs.

Actually they aren't. in the UK Doritos crisps are considered junk food and the mass produced burgers that are frozen are filled with all sorts of things (the manufacturing process over here even includes adding extra water to meat products to make it look better than it is, but when you start frying it off, it shrivels in a hurry to half the size).

Only in a butchers (which is rapidly going the way of the dinosaur in the UK) or a big supermarket with a butchers included, you might be able to get a proper burger for your bun, but those tend to be more expensive.

Whipped cream over here can contain any number of things and usually there is a lot of sugar, fat, and other agents used to create the whipped cream.

To get the healthy option you'll have to do it at home where you know exactly what has gone into it and control what you put into it to make it healthy.
Just two Mcdoubles, no pickles, and a medium fry.

If i'm really really feeling it, i'll get a fish sandwich or some nuggets in addition.

Only 1. I've discovered that the trick to eating whatever you want and enjoying life is portion control and eating a balanced diet. I have a McDonalds with a salad on the side. It's delicious.

It's been years since I've had McDonald's.

They've always been my favorite burger chain but my problem is, once I get started I don't know when to stop.

In my younger days I could easily put away a half dozen Big Macs in one sitting (which I did frequently back then), and it's one of the reasons I really love the kid in this video:

(I hope he eventually caught up to that other dude and beat him down, or maybe peed in his grape soda one day when he wasn't looking. 😆)

Anyway, these days I don't do burgers very often at all anymore (even though they're still one of my favorite food groups. 🍔)
