Constantinople or Istanbul? Which one do you think sounds better?

For those who don't know and live under a rock Istanbul is one of the most populous cities in Europe located in Turkey and a popular tourist attraction. Constantinople was the previous name of Istanbul that they renamed somewhere in 1910s. Constantinople is the Greek version and Istanbul is the Turkish one.

Just remember if you have a date with her in Constantinople, then she is in Istanbul

I am no expert on what anyone should name anything (from another country) - having played 80 days - https://store.steampowered.com/app/381780/80_Days/ I'm used to seeing Istanbul but that was a game set a century ago...

"Istanbul" sounds like a provincial backwater, where farmers bring their cattle to market.

The Greeks might be awful when it comes to running cities, but they were better at naming them. Nothing sounds good in Turkish.

I know and speak Turkish Language since 4 years of age and there are good sounding words. Not that i have to prove something here, this is just glossary speaks up from a far place of the World.

Isn't what we call it here kind of irrelevant though? Since theres an official administration recognized by the rest of the world governing there and they can call it whatever they want.
