Minecraft lag on a good pc
Hi. I'ev been playing minecraft for 5 years and always ran it really good. 2 years ago i got a new graphics card and for 1.5 years everything ran perfectly (300-400 fps) but suddenly my pc can barely hold 50. I've tried updating my drivers, reinstalling everything, allocating more and less ram and nothing works. pls help

whats your cpu? i suggest installing optifine to help with your fps troubles, its a good mod, it fixed my problem of fps constantly dipping to 59, even though minecraft can run at very high fps and with anti aliasing and anisotropic filtering settings minecraft doesnt have that ugly shimmering

Did it start with a new version of the game or mods? Could be a cascading world generation bug.

If your PC is 5 years old the thermal paste might be drying out, causing the CPU to overheat and throttle.

Have you checked the in game frame limiter setting?
