Yeah I feel the same way, I mean this one guy just come up in here saying it's horrific and keeps him up all night then says it lasts 2 seconds I mean come on now.
You're imagining it man.
You ever thought that maybe, because there is this thing that connects everyone to each other called the internet, that 'rare' cases may become more frequently known and experienced?
Also people are more open about their conditions now as more is known about them.
Well I mean three people here claim to have it, seems a bit much no?
Not really, this is a gaming platforms off-topic forum.
If you're expecting it to be 'regular' or 'normal' people here, then you are sadly mistaken.
Basically your eyes open, and your senses are dulled. It's almost like your dreaming but not quite. You can't move because physically, you still feel like you are asleep. I closed my eyes, and tried wiggling which accelerated my heartbeat, causing me to wake up.
The reason it scares people is because you can still have dreams while in this state. I've heard of some people dreaming that a person was walking towards them, and they couldn't move.
You can still wake up from it, especially if something real happens, like someone touches you, or an actual loud noise happens, but the things you experience from the state itself is different. it's not the same as actually being awake. And no one calls out of work because of it.
Well that's true, normal people seem much less common here than sleep paraylsis sufferers.
You're incredibly ignorant.
A lot of gamers suffer with insomnia, whether its self inflicted through staying awake too long to play games or through no fault of their own via mental heath. Sleep paralysis is in my experience part of the insomnia deal, something I have dealt with for over 10 years.
Considering you are part of a community which has historically been abused and insulted, I would have thought you'd have less ignorance about yourself.
You clearly underestimate just how many people experience it. This is like calling people with poor eye sight "illiterate" when they don't have their glasses on.
That's like making a clothes store and being surprised that people were walking into your store to shop for clothes.
I really don't get your angle.
