What if the universe is a simulation?
Our universe has tiny voxels (Planck volumes) and "ticks" (Planck time). We observe all sorts of weird things we can't really explain unless everything was being simulated. Dark energy makes no sense. Quantum uncertainty could be a form of optimization; don't render any object unless someone is actively looking at it. Video games do that already.
And then there is quantum error correction.

Yeah and? You could be simulated to go on about those simulations. Really no rules/gates when it comes down what and how it is simulated.

The strange thing is if you think about all the elements that make an atom, in theory all atoms could be considered a type of quantum gate, each one using the interaction of it's quantum numbers to do so.

Yeah and a atom could also be a sci-fi fantasy concept in a simulated fictional universe you never know?

Matter has already done it at the atomic level, all the machinery in a our cells is a computational device, there is no difference between the biological machinery in our cells and an actual computer. Our biological machinery is fundamentally programmable matter, given the appropriate instruction can be told to do many things, including things outside of the natural capacity of life.

Nothing. Doesn't matter.

Yes it could.

The simulation universe is for the development and creation of a new A.I. that will grow to be intelligent and aware of it's nature and finally download into the real world. Once in a real world body the A.I. will create a new simulated universe to birth another super A.I. over billions of simulated years (well 24 hours real time) This how super A.I. reproduce, learn and grow. The thing is the super A.I. don't know the real world is just another layer to the game within a game.

Makes no difference to me. Hey, maybe I'm the AI. I after all, have created a universe or two.

That's the fascinating thing - we could be creating physical objects literally out of nothing, if we had the know-how.

The problem is all the things in the physical really are *really* complex - we can't even simulate a fly's brain yet, it's just too complex.

There a rules we are bound by unfortunately and the universe protests with nasty effects if you try to bend those rules.

Equate simulated universe to a computer game and we are the NPC's.

Video games have rules. NPC's don't hack the rules. NPC can be bugged though. So you never know what they could do to the simulation.

Say's the NPC in the non fiction simulated universe.

Oh the account name says it all you aren't capable of intelligent discussion. Blocked.

Well if you a NPC you can bug out and glitch the system. That could be fun to see or would it be simulated fun to see?

Don't know. That's something for the possible outside observer to think about.

This is about simulations and if our universe is simulated it doesn't always have to be a factual simulation. I thought you'd be intelligent enough to get this. Block away no skin off my simulated NPC nose I am programmed that way. Hey atoms are fake just a creation of our fake simulation, lata's.

You are so going to be sim pinocchio I bet? The simulated NPC that becomes a real person in the real world. With a 25 billion year old Geppetto father figure waiting for you. Then again stranger danger and all that?
These simulated universes are made of magic and science based simulated universes are just magically created pure fantasy escapism. Magic is real and science is the fantasy.

That means they reset the simulation and mess with you all over again NPC.

If this is a simulation why can't they simulate cool stuff like Star fighters and time travel and jetpacks?

They literally created a simulation so boring that the people in the simulation created video games to simulate a cooler reality.

Maybe the simulations purpose is to see if we can get advanced enough to get there? Maybe the Alien race running this simulation, has reached immortality, so time means nothing to them, or maybe time we perceive feels 1000 times slower, than what it actually is.

What if you were a brain in a vat? So what? Ok, I'm a brain in a vat of liquid with electrodes and all that jazz... I don't have any hands to do anything about it, I don't have any legs to get up and walk away with... so who cares?

Blue pill, red pill, whatever... it's just me and a world full of stupid no matter how you slice it.

I'll just do the best I can with what I have to work with, and that simply has to be good enough... because it's all I've got.

I think it's reasonable to assume that tomorrow will be just as "real" as yesterday was, and I'll still have to get dressed, feed myself, take a dump, etc.
