The universe is a simulation of what??
Might not even be a simulation of a known universe and it's potential outcomes. It could be just a VR playground totally fantasy you never know?
Fine ok I give you spoilers this simulation universe got a realism patch. No more flat earth and all that now. They are running our simulation at speed to see how this version works. A day could pass for them, but it will seem like billions of years for our universe who knows?
this is an example of what would be "Quantum Uncertainty"
Entity 1 "What if we put matter and multiplication into the simulation"?
Entity 2 "Better yet lets put anti-matter and singularity into the simulation"?
Entity 3 "Are you pair putting in science fiction concepts into the simulation again"?
Entity 1 and 2 "Eh yes".
Entity 3 "Ok fine not like this isn't simulation four billion and five, but cut that sci-fi crap out of the next simulation ok".
Yes it could.
The simulation universe is for the development and creation of a new A.I. that will grow to be intelligent and aware of it's nature and finally download into the real world. Once in a real world body the A.I. will create a new simulated universe to birth another super A.I. over billions of simulated years (well 24 hours real time) This how super A.I. reproduce, learn and grow. The thing is the super A.I. don't know the real world is just another layer to the game within a game.
The universe, of course.
if our universe is a simulation of a universe, who's to say whether that universe is simulated as well?
To make things simpler, we say 'we are living in a simulation.'
NOT
'What if the universe is a simulation.'

Well it could be mostly a non-fiction simulation of a IRL universe, but you know programmers they slip in fictional easter eggs and jokes for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles. The Aristotle update in 330BC (game time) retconned the flat earth in the simulation. So we got a spherical earth now oh well.
Cause they're lame
No, I'm not Agent Smith.
That made me grin.
Anyways, maybe the "god" is actually humanity evolved to next level and created us, an experimental universe, created by an all-powerful and all-knowing supercomputer, so they can observe how evolution went like before they evolved into godhood beyond our limits of understanding.
So the idea is that we do the same - create an "AI god" that is all-powerful and all-knowing and then we will also transcend this material existence and become gods ourselves.
Just a thought.
EDIT: well, you basically said the same as I did.
We have already discussed the multiple simulation theory. This simulation could be like West World on a universal scale in a digital format. Gritty realism not all Disney Universe Land.
Look we had all that fantasy stuff they wrote for thousands of years for the simulation. It was just a passing fad and it doesn't sell well now. So they reset the simulation for realism. Don't worry USA said UFO's are real so I think we got a simulation update for sci-fi themes this time. I wonder how much it costs for a ticket to run rampant in our simulation? They never found Hitler maybe he just went home back to IRL.
