Why am I shamed for being a PC gamer who mostly play video games with gamepad?
I never understand PC gamers bashing their fellow PC elitist for choosing a gamepad vs keyboard and mouse. I grew up playing with consoles and I still own a console and play with consoles. I started playing games on PC when I was able to afford PC parts to built myself a PC. I built several PC since 2012 when I started and now I only play games on PC. But when I tell people that I hate playing PC games using mouse and keyboard PC people look at me like I am not really a PC gamer. In fact, 99% of the games I bought on steam and elsewhere for PC all use gamepad. I use my xbox series x for all my PC gaming. Now I consider myself an outcast? I never understand that. Yes I know playing an FPS using mouse and keyboard is better but to me I suck at using mouse and keyboard. I play my single player FPS using gamepad. For some strange reason it is considered a taboo. I never understand it. Am I the only person who play video games on PC who prefer gamepad even with FPS?

Who are you shamed by?

And random nobodies on the internet don't count.
Play with whatever peripherals are most comfortable for you.
Who gives a ♥♥♥♥ what other people think?

I play a few games using a gamepad, I enjoy those games better using it. Theres not much to say, just play as you want, if someone criticize you is because he/she is braindead. So...

Where's the beef?

"PC elitist" yeah, okay.

Dude. I'm playing Cyberpunk 2077 on a five-year-old AMD Win7 system, averaging 30fps, and playing with an XBox One controller plugged into USB. It's been fun. And easier on my wrists than trying to drive with KB&M.

Do what you enjoy. F' other people.

I don't get why people like to crap on others over subjective things.
use what you like to use.

personally I can't play FPS with a gamepad , find it too hard to aim with a joystick.

You aren't that special...

The only time I’d see reason to complain is if peripheral devices provide an unfair advantage such as aim assist but aim assist is rarely unfair since a mouse/keyboard will almost always be more precise.

Do what you want OP. Screw the haters. Whatever works for you.

One of the beauties of PC Gaming is to be able to use any controller you want.
Even the PC Master Race subreddit's wiki has this as one of the reasons why PC is better than consoles: https://old.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/wiki/guide#wiki_you_can_use_any_controller_with_your_pc.2C_not_just_one_single_model_like_with_consoles
So if there's any PC elitists scolding you for using a controller, they clearly did not see this article and just following the PCMR circlejerk bandwagon without any thought. Ignore these morons.

Reason why it's taboo to play a first person shooter with a controller is that you can't aim precisely well with an analog stick. Auto aim or aim assist doesn't count.
If you're struggling to use keyboard and mouse then here's the thing: the more you use it, the better you can control with it. Memorising the keyboard layout also helps.

But even so, there are some games that goes better with a gamepad than keyboard + mouse such as platformers, fighters, racing or really, most games with a third-person perspective.

Whatever the case, it's all up to personal preferences.
Use any input method you prefer and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

You shouldnt be shamed for using controller, its all about what your most comfortable using to game with.

Like most of the time I use a controller, especially for fighting games and the only time I use keyboard and mouse are for games that dont have loads amount of commands binded to keys cause I will forget easily where everything is.

From high DPI to key bindings. Real PC games rely heavily on keyboard and mouse for precision control. When someone plays the same game with a limited controller, they indirectly showed a lack of appreciation and respect towards the platform and fans.

However, if you play fighting games, nobody would say a joystick or gamepad is bad. Because that's where they gave that full control. It's harder for a keyboard to perform a special move that requires the joystick to spin in full circle twice. When PC is still new in market, adding a gamepad in DOS is recognized and respected. Hence it's not about PC or console. It's all about giving your best to your input.

When you talk about playing on PC now, people can naturally see it as a serious and competitive type with expensive keyboard and mouse. That's where the market is today. Hence you should not mention "gamepad on PC", instead simply say "I play easily controllable games on PC with Gamepad just to get higher FPS". You will be loved. :erune:
