I have joined the 144hz squad
and holy ♥♥♥♥ what a difference. I'm not even hitting 144 fps on some games and it still looks noticeably smoother than being on 60hz. I can't believe I didn't upgrade earlier.

I got one recently. But not for the extra Hz. I see no difference at all.

If you just got a new one from a 60hz monitor, you might have to go into your display settings and set the refresh rate to 144hz. It won't automatically do it for you.

It is set to 144. The Steam display does show 144 in games. Nothing is smoother.

144hz will become outdated in a few years when 300+hz becomes the norm

I had 100hz CRT back in 99´
Last time I had 50/60 hz was before this.

The next steep for you is getting a 1440p IPS for proper balance and actual colour reproduction.

There is a huge difference. You can see just how much at the UFO test.
(Warning if you have epilipsi you should not go there)

Yeah there is a huge difference bubblegum, unless you're still using 60 hz settings lol

Welcome! Hopefully you have G-sync/Freesync 144hz monitor. Using that, I like to cap my FPS to 72 in most games, while leaving the refresh rate at 144hz. With G-sync/Freesync you won't get screen tearing when the refresh rate doesn't match the frame rate.

I agree, it does make a huge difference. In fact, I have a 4K 60hz monitor I bought awhile ago and it's become a backup monitor since I'd rather have the high refresh rate over 4K.

Not 360hz?
It's definitely noticeable. It's like playing on a console all of your life at a locked 30hz that dips periodically and then moving on to 60hz. 60hz to 144hz is just as noticeable. Enjoy your new monitor and gaming experience!
