2019 Elantra GT N-Line - Aftermarket BOV causing P2261 CEL

So I recently installed the GAN GT tune onto my car, along with a CAI, Intercooler resonator delete and a aftermarket SXTH Element BOV...I also swapped out the stock BOV MAC Solenoid for an upgraded unit.

Been running 93 octane and around 21 to 24lbs of boost...car runs fine and all, but I can't get rid of the single code I have, causing the CEL.

Does anyone here own a modified veloster, elantra or KIA with the 1.6L turbo engine, did you get the P2261 "Turbo/Super Charger Bypass Valve - Mechanical", and how did you get rid it?

I tried to clear the code multiple times, but it comes back the moment I start the car again.

It sounds to me like you need a qualified automotive mechanic to help with the problem you've described, and I'm not a mechanic.

How about you put your Hyundai Elantra back to stock and uninstall all the aftermarket parts and tune because after all you have a Hyundai Elantra. What were you thinking? You know the N line on this is just a cosmetic package and the stock numbers don't justify trying to modify it, and this is another one of those cars that has GT badging to make it sound sporty when it's not deserving to have anything GT in the name. You're going to push that 1.6 L too hard and wind up with a voided warranty heaping pile of junk. If you want to modify a car into something performance oriented you should sell this and get something that has better bones to start or at least trade it in for the Hyundai Veloster if you want to stick with Hyundai to make it easier. That's the only model in their whole lineup that is deserving of any aftermarket performance mods.

I drove the 2019 Elantra GT non N package, and hated it. That car drove like ♥♥♥♥. It had the underpowered N/A 2.0l making ~160hp which I hated. I wouldn't have bought this car if it only had that motor and suspension setup.

The N - Line has custom rear multi-link suspension, improved roll-bars, stiffer engine mounts, lowered ride height, and it had the 1.6L Turbo engine with the 6spd manual. Thats what sold me, I didn't like the veloster and its 3 door design. I like hatchbacks/hot-hatches more. And with me being a upcoming mechanic, I couldn't give a damn if the warranty was voided or not - I know everyone in the service area because of my apprenticeship, so I have that on my side unlike others.

This motor has proven itself in the veloster/elantra sport along with the SUV models and KIA vehicles. Its been beaten on time and time again, and a tuner called SXTH element pushed the same motor to 400+ WHP on stock internals. If it was a terrible, unreliable, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ motor - I wouldn't have bought the car, I wouldn't even think about modifying it if I didn't trust it.

I mainly bought this car cause I like tuning/modifying things. This was a good vehicle to start on. The 1.6l can make around 250 to 300whp with just bolt-ons, a tune and still be reliable.

Meh. Not a reddit fan, not gonna waste my time posting on there if I barely get any help for my problem.

If anything, I'll just have the CEL stay on for the next 7 years. It doesn't degrade any performance of the car, or ruin how its running. Only reason why I want to fix it, is because it looks bad at the dealer front, for the 1 time I would bring the car in for service that I don't do myself - because of warranty.

From what I was told, this is a common problem with the elantra/velosters with the 1.6l, "...its just how the car detects it has a aftermarket BPV/BOV" or some bs. Some people get lucky, and don't get the CEL or this code, and some people like myself - their car is just over sensitive in this area.

What you need to do is look up the electrical schematics for the car, find out which fuse displays the error message and pull out that fuse. Error message gone!

That will be $500.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.............. I would do that, if this wasn't tied into the ECU/ECM fuse......no can do. :)
