At this point, only reason I still use PS4 is for all Yakuza games that aren't on PC and few others.
EDIT: They also moved the release date on PS5 for Y7 for some reason.
Like a dragon will be on PC though. I dunno man, I'd just stick with pc. Way more then enough here.
So on that basis, I'd wait until something truly impressive comes out as an exclusive.
Maybe I'm just hard to please though.
I love Fire Emblem Three Houses(I have hundreds of hours and multiple play through)but if I wouldn’t have gotten it in September 2019, and instead waited a year, I would’ve played a more complete game that didn’t have as many issues. For an example of a PS4 game, Persona 5 was released worldwide in 2017. If you waited until March 2020, you could’ve got the Royal edition for a similar price as the initial release version, except you would’ve had more content and less bugs. This is not to say that wouldn’t enjoy these games when they initially release, they just by all standards are better games if you wait a year or two.
As far as I’m aware, hardware for consoles is almost the exact same concept. Wait a year or two and there will probably be a PS5 slim or something, and by then there will probably be a wider catalogue that you can actually enjoy with your new console. And even if there isn’t a PS5 slim, there is a good chance that the price of a PS5 won’t be as expensive as the preorder cost.
Unless you know a friend is getting a PS5 and you intend to play a multiplayer game with him, there isn’t a reason to get the newest console at launch. I have never had an ending of a game spoiled for me by waiting a year or two, and this is one of the only reasons I’m thankful that Videogames aren’t as mainstream as movies.
