What were gamers playing when you first joined steam?
What were the big things at the time.

CSGO and Dota 2

Counter Strike Source, Modern Warfare 2, Counter Strike 1.6, Condition zero, Team Fortress 2, Portal, BF Bad Company 2.

Those were the most played games on steam back then. I am thinking about it now and damn, condition zero and cs source player count dropped a lot. However cs 1.6 is still in the stats page which is cool. But yeah, there were 3 cs games in the top 10 played games.

No idea, I'm here for my own entertainment not for what others are doing...

Wasn't really paying attention to what people were doing back then. I joined around 2012.

EDIT: Most likely TF2.

Current / Highest
''53,539 93,526 Counter-Strike: Source
47,940 76,420 Counter-Strike
17,022 20,357 Team Fortress 2
7,320 13,522 Condition Zero
5,000 8,204 Day of Defeat: Source

Half-Life was the ONLY thing, plus all of its mods. Fortunately they started bringing non-Valve games onto steam and now we have the wonderful gaming empire we have today.

CS:GO was and probably will be the biggest thing for a while.

A lot of new releases this year definitely took the spotlight.

When I got my account I was playing COD: Black Ops, first game actually. Then the library started slowly growing with free games and as gifts for birthday and Christmas until I got a credit card.
