This reminds me of parts in "Inside". Excellent game; the player jumps onto the helmet and controls NPC to solve puzzles.

There are a few psychic games I've played.

"Psychic Detective" which is a very old movie based game. (You jump from character to character to solve a crime and you can control their emotions)

Beyond Two Souls have some aspects of it. (Similar to Heavy Rain and Detroit/Story driven)

Destroy All Humans as well when you use hypnosis on npc as a alien.

Mario Oyssey: the main attack in that game is to throw your (possessed) hat at enemies and take control of them that way. There are not even the usual power ups like the fire flower because every enemy in the game has his own abilities and you can use them

Jedi Knight: Outcast and JK: Academy has a force power where you can brainwash enemies to fight for you. In Psi-ops you can jump in the heads of enemies and play as them.

Fallout 3 when you can used a mesmetron on enemy or npc. and once you captured you put a slave collar to them
