Like why were call of duty and assassin creed games 80 to 120 (If you got the special version) dollars on release when they came out with 2 or 3 a year and were nothing more than reskins of the same game)? Or sports games and their yearly release and they're identical to the game from last year but with updated rosters? Because suckers will pay for it
The price never dips that much, pretty sure it's publisher greed.
Pretty sure I bought total war Warhammer 2 for like 20 bucks or less on sale (hard to remember, but I too only buy on sale and had it on my list for a long time before it came down) a few months back.
Dang, must've missed it, or prioritized something else over it, idk... Guess I'll have to wait for the next time it dips that low
Same to Train Sim or any Race Sim.. you just buy the DLC you like; I love UK train tracks and cabs, so I only buy UK stuff. I do not buy any other. See it as a hobby model-store. Lots of Rc-cars but I will not buy every RC-car, lol.
Also lots of games do have DLC as cut-content etc etc. Its bad for us gamers. I miss the days when you had a base game and 1.5 years later a huge expansion that shakes things up, etc.
That being said, yeah, I think it's very strange that a game that's 4 years old is still full price - especially with a sequel that's been out for 3 of those years. That's the sort of thing that I only ever remember seeing a company like Activision do, with Call of Duty.
I'm not sure what the benefit is for keeping it so high. Unless it has something to do with them designing it so that you can have all of the content from Warhammer 1 in Warhammer 2.
I should amend that post, I was talking about Total War Warhammer 2, not the first. Warhammer 1 isn't on my wishlist, so I can't speak of those sales.
Warhammer 2 has spent most of 2020 on sale.

Somehow people rather purchase a 60 bucks game that is in a 75% discount than a 30 bucks game with a 50% discount. Cause apparently the latter isn't a good deal, even though the actual sales price is the same.
