Happens all the time. Just look at mobile games, where little studios (1-5 people) cough out silly, half-assed games every month to get some money. There even are ripoffs of ripoffs of ripoffs now, quantity is more important than quality.

If you think that a game is a blatant ripoff, that just badly copied everything instead of taking inspiration, report it.

You can't copyright a style of game play. You can only copyright the code, artwork, story, music, ect.

Exactly, take karting games for example, many follow the same design, from the way the karts drive to pickups and gamemodes. If you could copyright a style of game whoever made the first commercially successful karting game (old mario kart maybe) could claim the rights to the karting game genre and there would be no other karting games for other franchises made which would be a disaster for the gaming industry.

its a ripoff firstly like come on would you like it if you made a game and then someone just made you're game with a different title. not only does it blatantly take almost every aspect from among us but they have in app purchases. so they will possibly make money off of this

It isn't quite out yet so IDK if we can call it "better" yet. I think it counts as a ripoff because it clearly is trying to mimic the appearance on Among Us, and its advertised features (including the ones it calls "unique") are things doable in Among Us.
