Clones are allowed. You can't say "I own FPS therefore you can't use the genre". This happens extremely often. Also the fact that 'Among us' is several years old and there's already been other variants of it. Like the one that's in Jackbox. I forgot what it's called though.

It happens. Way too often. Phone games get many ripoffs of any popular game.

do you think innersloth will sue

Thing about Among Us is the devs are extremely intransigent about adding features. They refused to add net play for a long time, the feature that caused it to blow up, but still didn't learn to listen. If a clone comes along with a dev who listens to what people want that's a good thing.

Didnt among us literally must take the concept of town of Salem though? They cant claim "originality".

sadly, it's normal.

I've gotten a couple of adds for some game (Rise of Empires or something?) basically pretending to be a remake of AOE2. It never quite SAYS it's ripping off AOE2, but it talks about how it's been 20+ years since "it" came out and it shows graphics that look a lot like AOE2. I looked up screenshots and it's nothing like it.

Also I forgot what it was called but I remember some naval game a few years ago that just took footage from some Battlestations: Pacific mod.

If they had a feature that made it better then they would advertise that instead of copying it as-is.
who cares?
