How does everyone feel about humble bundle's monthly sub?

I normally don't pause but this month I did for the first time. I liked maybe 2 of the games and I felt both were probably not something I'd be super eager to play. (above the back log)
I have one of the earlier Tropico games and I wasn't really a fan.

I'm lucky enough to be on classic so the price is fair for me. I'd be far less happy only getting 9 of them for double the price I'm paying.

I feel like the over all quality is down. Often there are indie games that feel like they "should" be free or in the Steam $1 section. ( I noticed that two of the games in a previous month were free on itch.io)

Am I wrong? Curious how others feel.

It never really interested me. Rarely the monthly bundles have more than 2 games that I'm interested in. And I'll just wait to get those games, I'm in no hurry.

Yes, I'm still not convinced. I'm definitely not satisfied with their customer support, I'm MAD with the constant phone number checking thing and I'm having trouble locating reports concerning the charities and completely disappointed by their attitude when I tried to refer our own project so we could partner.

I own good amount of games in my library, and I'm a subscriber for a quite a while now. But I recently started to pause-a-month often. The offered games don't interest me/own them already so... Just pausing to keep the classic plan. If I see a good game, (could be just a single one) I'm willing to make a purchase and giveaway the rest I own on steam gifts. That's what I do...

The +20% discount for nearly everything on the Humble Store also comes in handy. Stacks with any usual sale discounts (multiplicative)

You sound like a very kind person gifting all those keys. Any idea if when our paid time for classic runs out if we'll be able to buy more classic at the same price? I ask because I purchased a friend one month and it was double what I pay per month.

I thought there was a feature title it had just gone down hill? Is tropico not the feature game? I have one of the older ones and I just didn't enjoy it.

If I already have the game, I just either give it away on SteamGifts or I activate it on an alt account. (I have a couple of alt accounts for this same reason).

My main has most games already with a collection of 2,000+ games. Some of the games are good, some aren't... it depends on what kind of games you like. They won't always cater to your liking.

You've been at it for years? Ok so I guess my question is this. If you were to rate the quality over all of the games since the switch over last fall, how would you rate it? Are you as happy so far with the games in 2020 as you were with 2019 or 2018? In theory you are getting more games. Are you getting good games though? Under the old system I felt less was more, not every month had what I liked, but I could see the games were quality titles at least.

I'm also in for ~ 3 years. And was skipping like 4 of the 12 months each year -- indicating it is about the same. As said before the overall construct improved by a lot no longer being cat in the bag, much easier to decide if the pack is worth the price.

Also my observation is that the packs are fairly aligned with my taste, those I skip has nothing I want and the ones I'm in tend to have several (say 4+) titles of interest.

It may work better for me because I almost stopped buying games outside bundles, and with at least 75% discount. Considering the time it normally takes a game to go on good offer and HB's it's pretty rare to hit a featured game that I already have. And if I do, it means I liked it a lot so it will make a good gift to some of my friends. :)

Their bundles have been putrid for a while. And their sales are always undercut by Steam, Fanatical or Green Man Gaming.

I'd never heard of Green Man Gaming, thank you for that. (I always appreciate the ability to shop around)

I've got about 6 of their bundles so far. With those it's more of am I interested or not. That art software bundle for example was one hell of a deal but it isn't something I'm interested in.

I've been doing the monthly then choice for quite some time now. A few in the beginning, then pretty much straight since the end of 2016/beginning of 2017 (I think, the time's flown by).

I like it and it's become my primary way of buying games that I'd otherwise have grabbed during a Steam sale, resulting in me spending a whole lot less money, since I know it would probably be forever until I got around to playing them anyway.

Usually there's 3 or 4 games from my wishlist that I'm pleased by, some indies that I'd never have thought of but might be fun, a couple that I already have and can pass on, and then one or two that I've no interest in whatsoever.

This month was kind of meh. Probably the worst since the one that was filled with old Squeenix backlist games. Tropico 6 is fine, but I probably would have waited until it's $5 for the complete edition in like 2022. Rachel Foster, Shadows, and Fae Tactics were on my wishlist, making me happy. Fae Tactics is fun, but I can see how longer periods of playing might cause boredom. The Sunless games are phenomenal, well worth it, but I already had both. Iron Danger, Basement, and Lightmatter might be fun.

But what drags this one down is Goat of Duty--which has been given away free a few times--, The Uncertain--a good game, sure, but has been bundle fodder for a while now in much cheaper bundles, and Fantasy Blacksmith--which is a piece of crap that looks like an asset flip and should cause Humble to be embarrassed for its inclusion. All of which sucks.

Yet then you've got months where you've got Vampyr, Call of Cthulhu, Hello Neighbour, HN: Hide & Seek, Wargroove, Genesis Alpha One, Little Big Workshop, A Case of Distrust, American Fugitive, Coma 2, and Through the Darkest of Times, which was an absolutely incredible bundle.

So, it's six of one, half a dozen of the other.

There are a lot of great awesome bundles but after a while the backlog becomes too much so I opted out of keeping the classic subscription and I haven't subbed in a while because I have too many unplayed games in my Steam library, and a couple hundred spare game keys from various bundle sites that I haven't even redeemed because I'd rather gift or trade them.

It's not bad if you're just building up your game collection or if you absolutely have to have all the latest and greatest games.

I own good amount of games in my library, and I'm a subscriber for a quite a while now. But I recently started to pause-a-month often. The offered games don't interest me/own them already so... Just pausing to keep the classic plan. If I see a good game, (could be just a single one) I'm willing to make a purchase and giveaway the rest I own on steam gifts. That's what I do...

You sound like a very kind person gifting all those keys. Any idea if when our paid time for classic runs out if we'll be able to buy more classic at the same price? I ask because I purchased a friend one month and it was double what I pay per month.

Classic plan is only for those who were subscibers before the Humble Choice. If you cancel your classic plan, you will never be able to get back to it. Thats why I pause, instead of cancel the plan completely.
