Humble Bundle Corel Painter
Has anyone else here bought the humble bundle with Corel software? If so, I am having a problem with the installation and was wondering if anyone else had any issues and if they solved them.

Are you talking about software that's already installed or is it something that was bundled with the Humble Bundle which looks like it happened in 2019 which was last year!?

Currently on Humble Bundle, there is a bundle with software, one of the software is "Corel Painter 2020" After i purchased the bundle today, they provided me with a download link but it doesn't work. I also checked their website and their download link doesn't work either as the installer closes itself after reaching 100%

If there's an issue with the website, I would recommend contacting their support. It could be a temporary server issue.

So it is this month's Humble Bundle then? I don't really know much about that program but is there a way for you to contact someone about it? Let them know that the link they provided is not in fact working on your end?

Do you have something like an AV that is blocking its 100% completion for downloading? That sounds strange. Server issue could also be a thing.

I just tried to install it again with Anti-virus turned off and it still does the same thing but thanks for the suggestion.
I have contacted support but so far all of their suggestions haven't helped

I have contacted their support but so far no luck with any of their fixes. I have checked around on forums and see that there was few more people with my problem but i didn't see any fixes or solutions

You must have .NET Framework 4.7 Runtime or later installed:
https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet-framework

Either grab it from the Microsoft website or use your Windows Button > Settings (gear icon) > Windows Update. Ensure it's latest version is successful. Then reboot and try again with the install.

If the website offers, download a full offline installer. Else ensure the firewall isn't blocking. It most likely has a huge download via the installer, which some security will attempt to block in some cases (helpful preventing trojan droppers and malicious script drive-by downloading, but not so much with legit installers that act in similar ways).

Reboot again after the installation or repair attempt.

Thanks for your reply, i checked and i have the latest windows update, the website doesn't seem to have an offline installer and i tried installing it with my firewall off twice and it still didn't work. The last few times i have tried installing it, after the download reaches 100% i have noticed that a new window opens up called "installer" but closes after a second or two.

Are you using any anti-virus software and/or app control?

Are you using the admin account as the Windows User while installing it?

Ensure the basic things like having enough disk space, etc. However it sounds more like a problem with a security block or .NET crash.

When you run the installer, try right-clicking the EXE and select "Run As Administrator".

---

Under your Windows taskbar > Search/Run box > Type "Event Viewer" (without the quotes and select from the list)

Then on the left tree menu of the Event Viewer go to:
Event Viewer (Local) > Custom Views > Administrative Events

This will list a huge amount of warnings and some possible error messages. Don't worry, as most can be ignored. Just look for red errors around the last time of installation. Click the Error and check on the General and Details tabs below for a possible root cause of the issue. Mention that here.

I'm just using standard Windows defender, no special anti virus software or anything.

I am fairly certain i am using the admin account.

I certainly have enough disk space.

I have run the installer many times as "run as administrator" and it doesn't seem to make a difference.

I had a look at the event viewer and i only see 2 types of red errors. One of them is "Kernel-EventTracing/admin" in the general tab it says "Session "NT Kernel Logger" failed to start with the following error: 0xC0000035".

The other red error i see is called "AppModel-Runtime" in the general tab it says "Failed with 0x57 retrieving AppModel Runtime status for package Windows."

I added you, and if you have a spare moment i could share screen and you could have a look.

The 0xC0000035 error may be caused by windows system files damage, so I would suggest running a System File Checker.

Right-click start button > Windows Powershell (Admin)

Then type this into the command prompt:

sfc /scannow

That will check your Windows system files against the latest copy on the Microsoft servers and attempt to replace any missing or repair any corruptions.

---

The AppModel-Runtime 0x57 if not a bug/corruption of the installer itself, is normally a common issue in windows version 2004, when upgraded from 1909. Win 10 major builds tend to fresh install the motherboard drivers with it's own. It messes up on some builds due to this.

If you know your motherboard model, go to it's offical website and under support download it's latest drivers. Also flash update it's BIOS to the latest version. You want to check under it's drivers notes, you might notice some saying (Note) Win10 ver.2004 supported. If it suggests that on them, then that drivers is highly recommended to use.
