Is ketchup better than mayonaise?
I have a VERY important question. It is about ketchup and mayonaise. So, the question is: Which one of them is better? In my opinion, ketchup is ALOT better. Anyways, that's it.

Mayonnaise goes good with fries and I sometimes spread it on bread... that’s weird isn’t it.

fries can be dipped in so many things

dry sandwiches are bad, the solution is always some kind of mayo, even big mac sauce, so mayo it is.
You can do a lot more with ketchup. Mayo can only go so far outside of sammiches.

Ketchup is nasty, I think most ingredients some kind of chemical. Mayonnaise much better made with lemon and it very easy to make at home.
Ketchup is primarily tomato paste, mixed with vinegar, sugar, water and a few herbs and spices and just as easy to make at home.

Mayo is a base for a ton of other sauces and recipes with wildly different flavors as an end result. Ketchup is ketchup, you can dress it up to a bbq sauce or use it (with added sugar) as a topping for meatloaf and such, but you always and up with a tomato based, vinegary and sweet sauce. It's too strong tasting too be used as a neutral base.

Mustard > Mayo > Ketchup

Ketchup I almost never use, don't keep any in the house ever. I don't mind if there is a little on a burger mixed with everything else when I eat out, but that is the limit of my tolerance of it. Never use it on anything I make myself.

Yes, I'm sure. Just remember to rinse the ketchup off after you're done.
They're both fine but I like ketchup a little bit more...

It just depends on the person.

Mayonnaise, ketchup and mustard are my three musketeers, lol. There's no better one for me, they are different but complementary at the same time.
Originally, catsup was a Chinese fish sauce. Heinz started marketing all manner of condiments under the name (but not 57 different ones) and somehow the tomato and vinegar one became dominant.

Today, of course, they'd just trademark the phrase "mother sauces" and sue anyone who uses it to refer to anything but tomato and vinegar stuff.
