If you could suggest new laws for video games what would you ask for?
I would like to see games that are online only be forced to offer an option to the user to play offline and LAN in case the servers are shut down or move to another owners service.

I personally feel it is anti consumer for devs to be able to shut down ability to play a game you have paid for.

Anything else people feel should be addressed? It seems Epic lawsuit had drawn the attention of the government here to look at the 30% issue but I think it is sad that they seem ignorant of other issues they could advocate for the people for.

I intend to write my representatives on this issue and urge others to do the same but wanted to know if there are other consumer issues that also should be included.

♥♥♥♥ off with regulations.
ITT: why most people should not even be allowed to vote.

Ok, I'll play though: make it illegal to make any laws regarding video games.

Exactly this
Kirby must appear in every video game somewhere.

And an option, once you find him, to play as Kirby.
thanks to those that took this seriously.

Have fun folks.
A new law? Well ... Windows being incompatible with any other launcher than Steam. So that takes care of most of the games sold at the wrong place.

Getting kids hooked on gambling like mechanics needs regulated for sure.

BIG WARNING LABELS and higher age ratings preferably.

Or just remove gambling completely from gaming industry
We need dueling laws.

You're able to challenge anyone online to a real life duel, 50 paces. With pistols. IF you're a coward your username will reflect that for a period no less then 10 years.

You're able to challenge anyone. I figure this would go a long way in making people on the internet nicer.
Absolute freedom like with some certain directions of art, like comedy for instance where you can basically say whatever you want and get away with it, nowadays. I find it too difficult to maneuver the obstacles and challenges presented to make games 'pure' and as much as innocent as possible.

Such as what
I would suggest fewer laws and regulations, and that consumers vote with their wallet and be involved in their children's media consumption instead of asking the government to both raise their children for them and shelter them from their mistakes. Also that anyone who unironically and/or unconditionally trusts the government and/or corporations be chemically castrated.

I would pass a law that allows people to sell their digital games, like the Hard copies / disks.
If i have bought a game, it becomes my property. So i'm free to do whatever i wanna do with it.
Selling, gifting, or just throw it in the trash.

I know Steam pretends that it's just a rental service, or other clever words to bypass the point.
Then i suggest remove the word ''buy'' from the store page, and put the word ''rent'' instead.

Thats not a regulation, thats just deregulating intellectual property, but if a given service has its own rules that you cannot rent it, then thats the end of it
