Best kung-fu movie you've ever seen?

It can be any live action movie.

No cartoons/anime.

Even over the top kung fu, like "The One", but it's kinda simple compared to some.

Way back in the 70s/early 80s ever saturday morning after cartoons the local channel 23 or 41 would have a "Kung fu theater" of usually 2 movies. They were so over the top it was epic.

I think my favorite kung fu movie that I can actually remember the name of is "The One". There are others I'd rather put up here I just can't remember the name of them.

That movie where some guy is beaten heavily or so in a fight ring. Then he trains and fights, etc. At the end he frees some girl that's slave of the dojo-owner. I forgot the name. Its probably a 80's or 90's movie. It was so cool back in days, but probably cheesy nowadays.

Another one I dearly loved is the movie with Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris.

Don't know the first one but the second one is enter the dragon. There was a cool story about Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris on the film how they would spend their nights actually just doing martial arts together.

As for movies I would have to say legend of the eight samurai. I can't link a trailer because all the links I seem to find are actually the full movie.

Also Sukiyaki Western Django. It's a Kung Fu Western. With Quentin Tarantino.

Thank you. I need to watch that movie you linked. Looks great! Enter the Dragon. Ahh. I knew it. It was so cool to watch as a kid back then. Still remember the scenes, and the soupscene hehe.

Btw it's an American playing in that movie. There's lots of nudity and such. I think it's not even proper kung fu, but just awesome fighting. It's not Van Damme. That's sure. One of the scenes I remember he can choose between girls lined up or so.Then he falls in 'love' with some girl he later frees from the owner or so. Ah well. I will never find this movie again.

Edit: I think someone killed his friend or so as well or his girlfriend. That's why he take revenge.

Those are also good! But BTILC is just awesome due to nostalgia! Many of us long for those days.

But im sure some of the developers who made mortal combat must of watch this movie.

It is pretty hard to chose one best, different movies have different strenghts, but 'The 36th Chamber of Shaolin' is easily among the best I have seen.

Mortal Kombat 2 had exactly one good fight scene. With cyrax.

Otherwise that movie was complete trash.

Modern films, I would probably pick something like ip man or the one. Or the stormriders.
