Why do people like Gucci?
I'm pretty curious as to why Gucci clothing is so popular, I personally find it ugly. Are they the Apple brand of the clothing world? I mainly notice teens and younger adults wearing this ugly stuff.

I wouldn't say they ugly, Gucci clothing does look nice but for me personally, it's a waste of money but young people have a different mindset to older people.

When I was young, I used to spend vast amounts of money on named brands because I though back then, it was cool and had bragging rights to say 'look at me, im wearing a £100 shirt'. Looking back to my younger days, I look at a idoit who wasted tens of thousands of pounds on nonsense when I could of invested that money on property.

Gucci items have a hefty price tag, so wearing it makes you a status symbol. Just another case of quantity over quality, "quantity" being money.

For the same reason why people are inclined to following trends set by the influential.

its not the brand nor item such people are actually most concerned about, but rather the hidden physiological short-term sense of gratification from purchasing the item and fitting in with the crowd.

Such people lack any real gratification in their life and rather instead try to seek "purchasable dopamine" instead of implementing meaningful changes into their life, such people will know no better for themselves, they're followers, they're sheep, welcome friend to modern society.

That looks like it would still be out of style if it came out 70 years ago.

It looks like it'd still be out of style at any point in time.

I really don't know why but here its shoes for the "street cred" or "rep" then again it seems hood culture is still mainstream somewhat...

I'd rather invest into a hobby or property/stocks...Etc
