Net worth.
You missed the point that the space launch was most likely already happening for other reasons or a test launch. The gnome was just created and sent along for the ride.
Otherwise, I totally agree with you, if it was just created for the gnome to be launched, it seems like a waste of cash which could of been used elsewhere for better purposes.
That, my friend, is stupid.
4 bil? I would follow Richard Garriot into space myself.
For charity.
And to announce new achievements in 3 games.
I'm assuming you are currently financially struggling. There is however no point hating upon the rich for that. Also, we are currently in a pandemic. You won't be the only one.
Here's a little trick for us rich people...
Assets + Passive Income > Liability + Expenses = Profit
So lets say you don't have many assets and no passive incomes to start off with, what now? Well you should instead worry more about reducing the liability and expenses. Smoking and drinking is an expense. Same deal with gambling. Fuel costs for the car, etc.
If you wanted to throw in donations and charities also into that mix, a rich person's mindset wouldn't be taking it out as a raised expense, they would want to take it from the passive income(s).
That's why the rich get richer and the poor stay poor. Because of basic money management skills, yet they don't teach you it even in school.
The only difference with being 'rich' is not having to work for all your money, but having most of the money work for you instead. Aka passive incomes.
Disclaimer: If you inherited or won a mass forture. However, most of them end up in worst dept than they started with, because they assume liability and expenses are actually assets. Mansion and sport cars, etc, all with ongoing costs.
I'm not fighting.
Neither is Shane really. I believe he's just a bit depressed about his wife and current position in life, which is understandable.

Perhaps you just need some time and can patch it up. Perhaps not. However, look if a relationship doesn't work out, in the end was it still sometime worth it at the time? I think you really must of loved her to care that much.
Gabe net worth: 4 billion USD
You are correct there, but you forget what net worth involves. It's the business, home, etc. A total wealth taking account of all financial assets minus liabilities.
It's not like just 4 billion sitting around unused but yeah I agree, if you had $4 billion sitting in the bank I would use it for something, most likely to generate more passive incomes or donate it.
Hell yeah! With unlimited money would do some crazy ♥♥♥♥.
