Mobile phone games that can really damage your eyes for long time
So i played Angry Birds 2 on phone - and while i have very big phone screen - its still kinda damaged my eyes , my vision is worse now exactly after i done playing this game. i think cause you need to stare at very small objects on small phone for long time - like these towers with pigs.

Any more dangerous for vision games you know like that on the phone? or phone games is overall bad for eyes cause yo need to stare at microscopic objects in the game all the time?

Yeah I think spending a lot of time looking at a big screen from close range is going to that to you no matter what you play, or watch, or do.

The issue could also be PWM (pulse width modulation) which some screens have. Its the worst invention ever made, when it comes to screens if its happening on low frequencies. For many it causes eye strain and headaches and more sensitive you are to it worse you feel and sooner.

I have Samsung S5E tablet and even though its other wise great device, if i stare at the screen for hour without taking breaks or looking away from it a lot my eyes get tired and i need to go outside or keep them closed for a while to feel better. My other android tablet which is cheap Huawei one uses very high pulse width frequency or maybe it doesn't use it at all doesn't affect my eyes, even if i use it for multiple hours straight.

I spend 18 hours a day staring at a big screen. it does mess things up

Mobile games are not really meant to be played for hours. They're supposed to be for, like, if you have five minutes to burn.

Which is why I don't understand how the stereotypical mobile game became an uber-grindy "finish 30 missions a day or lose your reward" mess.

Er, what about Final fantasy games, Disgaea 1, Kingdom rush series, Dragon quest games, pc ports, and such?

There's different type of mobile games, not all of them are those extremely crappy ones, even though those make up 90% of Playstore and Appstore.

don't blame the games for your lack of self discipline.
looking at anything that close to your face for took long, too intensely, is bad for your eyes.
this is just "common sense".
this is why it's normal to take a break from looking at a screen, a book, anything.

Do I really need to explicitly acknowledge the existence of exceptions when this is already implied by "stereotypical"?

Well, in any case, yes, there are exceptions.
