Going vegan isn't just about eatting meat products. It's a all life change, means not wearing any leather (be it shoes, belts, carrying around a leather handbad or wallet). Not touching anything that contains animal products.

I get angry when I see youtubers saying they gone vegan while at the same time sitting on their leather gaming chairs, drinking milkshakes and wearing leather belts.

Unless your prepared to go full vegan then say your going vegetarian instead.
You can be just a nutritional vegan. "Vegetarian" just means you don't eat flesh, so there would be some ambiguity there.

What is a nutritional vegan m8 ? sounds like a excuse to be not fully vegan but still look good on youtube to me but I can't be bothered to search at the moment

I used to know a vegan when I worked at the hospital 20 years ago. And he told me how much of a challenge it can be at time. He couldn't wear any animal skin (leather, fur etc), couldn't use, eat or puchase any products with animal products e.g soap, honey, wool or silk even cars that contained leather. And had to use vitamins to boost his nutrients. This guy was full vegan and I mean full vegan.

Humans accept and consider lots of varying states of existence as viable ways of being. Lets not pretend that every human being on earth maximizes their nutritional consumption on a daily basis. Even in places where food is in abundance, people live at varying rates of nutritional capacity. Look at places where environmental air quality is an issue. People living there consume more carbon monoxide than others and don't even get me started on people living near post nuclear catastrophe zones. Even if you eat meat every day, that doesn't mean you are living at 100 percent nutritional capacity. Realistically, you should aim for 80% on a daily and even that is a over-estimation. People arguing that 'vegans don't get their full nutrients' should see if they themselves (as they are able to eat anything) are fulfilling that utopic ideal of full nutritional existence.

Anyway, just had a quick search, seems these people who claim to be vegan but still use animal products are referred too has someone who eats a plant based diet. So it seems the term 'vegan' no longer applies only too say - a real vegan.... but is more of a broad term used for people who don't eat any animal based products.

Again, this is just a quick look at the subject matter, will need too research this further when im less tired. Please correct me if im wrong for learning purposes. Anyway, good night im off

that is a real vegan though. The more hardcore would just beware of products where animals were used anywhere along the production line.

Oh I see, we are talking about intent here.

Could be. In common usage it's often referred to describe a diet. That's why I personally prefer "Plant based diet" over vegan if you are a nutritional vegan. But of course if you have any questions, just ask the person.

I love leather tho.

I have

Leather jacket

Leather shoes

Leather watch

Leather seats in my room and in my car

Leather belt

Guess that puts me in the "animal abuser" category?

Also, cheese is just delicious.

I've been vegan most of my life.

Benefits outweigh any downsides. You get better health and a clearer mind.

The only downside I can think of is having less options in food and supplementing B12

Once you start to realise what you were actually eating and what horrors go into production of that "food" you start to no longer see food but rotting body parts from a corpse that should not be on your plate.

Meat and dairy are also linked to all sorts of nasty health issues, not to mention the whole needless murder and exploit of intelligent animals that can think and feel.

You also don't need to go the whole length of being a full vegan, can be a dietary vegan where you focus on the health benefits of a vegan diet.

The amount of vegan replacements for meat now is amazing compared to a few years ago. I never ate meat so I had nothing to miss but for those that want to try vegan its very easy to do so now.

After having tried many many things, researched a lot and done my fair share of experiments. I came to the conclusion that Vegan is not natural at all. Vegetarian is a lot more natural than being Vegan and being a " rare meat eater " is even more natural, means eating meat like once a month or once every two months of even more rare (high quality meats only).

But going full Vegan is scientifically proven, not healthy and can even become very dangerous, especially if you are not using any additional supplements and a pill which I need supplements for, is not the natural and normal way to go.

But hey, everyone is free to do whatever he likes in this regard. Sadly some people force this on their little children and cause heavy damage on them.
