I can only hope someone at Microsoft really wants another Obsidian produced Fallout game and was prepared to spend a lot of money to get all the pieces in place....

:cozybethesda:

You know I wasn't even thinking of that, but it could actually happen considering that Microsoft also owns Obsidian.

nuObsidian isn't the same people that made New Vegas, plus Avellone managed to get #MeToo'd a few months ago so that's not happening lol

Not sure if it's a good or bad thing. Microsoft has been buying indie studios left and right past couple of years, though obviously ZeniMax/Bethesda is huge in comparison to it's previous acquisitions.

Microsoft has acquired Double Fine Productions, Obsidian Entertainment, inXile Entertainment, Playground Games, Compulsion Games, Undead Labs and Ninja Theory over the past couple of years.

Does this mean no more Elder Scrolls, Fallout and Doom games (among others) on Sony Playstation?

Tim Kain still works for Obsidian and he was co-director with Chris Avellone on Fallout 2. Josh Sawyer also still works with Obsidian and he was lead designer for New Vegas. Chris Avellone did a lot of cool stuff, but he wasn't the only designer for New Vegas. Although, he did design most of the DLC.

They'll either annihilate each other or become a super tumor.

Thank you for the source very interesting indeed.

Interesting and also not interesting. The former because of how it'll develope, the latter because I very rarely play Bethesda (or ID or other subsidiaries) games anyway.
Cecis 21/set./2020 às 8:46
Contrary to what a lot think, I actually like Bethesda. They are still doing quests that I enjoy, games even. ESO, Fallout 76 is surprisingly enjoyable with friends, maybe because I also like exploring and Bethesda still puts a soul into their worlds.

About consoles I couldn't care less.

Now about all the people asking for Fallout NV 2. Isn't that what Obsidian tried to do with Outer Worlds? It didn't go so well for me.

Let Fallout go, bring Obsidian an InXile writers to TES. Maybe we can have a good written TES again like Morrowind. =). And no, Unovowed is not TES, TES lore is unique.

Think mods will still be allowed? I wonder. I don't mean "Creation club" type miserable garbage.

Given Bethesda's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ attitudes of late, I don't see how Microsoft's acquisition is a bad thing.

There is bad attitude then there is the Microsoft "Borg" attitude. Not sure which I prefer either. The "bad" at least is human.
