TikTok and WeChat download ban begins Sunday, full ban on Nov 12 (in the US)

If you have either TikTok and WeChat installed on your phone, the app will continue to work. However, both apps will be removed from Apple App Store and Google Play store. So, starting on Sunday, Americans will not be able to download TikTok or WeChat, and current users will no longer be able to update TikTok or WeChat in the future.

The FULL ban will begin on November 12: that is when TikTok and WeChat will STOP working on iPhone and Android. I use Android devices. Google has in the past removed apps that I HAD PAID FOR and were already installed on my Android devices... AND GOOGLE REMOVED MY APPS WITHOUT MY PERMISSION! Google did not give me a refund either. (F- you, Google.) Not sure if TikTok and WeChat will get the same treatment.

Also, if there's no TikTok and way to bypass, then all those individuals will end up flowing into something else. The so-called "cringe" you wanted to avoid ends up coming over to your own social media platforms.

Google doesn't need your permission, you voluntarily gave it by agreeing to the Terms of Service when creating your Google account. As for the refund, you didn't buy the apps from Google; you bought the license giving you permission to use an app developed by a third-party company that authorized Google to be a vendor that sells the app to you.

Google didn't screw you over. Apple didn't screw you over. China didn't screw you over.

You screwed yourself over. This is how the real world works, it's not the end of the world but it is an important lesson to learn about life in general -- people suck, adhesion contracts aren't fair, and China can't cook anything worth s***.

The privacy factor isn't the issue, hell that's worst in American's own products and companies. It's just a masked excuse to put over a much more complex issue.
