What’s the scariest game you ever played?
Resident evil 1 was kinda nostalgic back in the day, the remake made the atmosphere more dark and chilling.

Silent Hills. Oh wait that was cancelled
PT. You can't get that anymore.
Allison road... Company bought it then canceled the game...

Hmmm...

Condemned criminal origins then.
Stardew Valley
New Super Mario Bros Wii. It shows you how many times you died.

I cant play horror games too well. I did play Resident evil 1 and 2 on ps1 days, but i didnt enjoy them too much.

Overall i'd say resident evil 4. It was creepy as hell for me, but its one of the best games i have ever played, so i still finished it.

Resident evil 5 was scary as hell, but it was because the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ partner AI bumbed difficulty one notch higher than what you got.

Dark Souls 2 was pretty horrifying.

(Albeit in an unconventional way.)

Minecraft is pretty scary. I know it doesn´t look like it, but it uses a technique with the day and night cycle. Where you must get to safety at night. So you feel safe at some point, and when at the time, if you bump into an enemy while feeling in that safe state, it will scare you more.

It´s clever. They may have not even wanted to make it a horror game, but it´s still an effective technique. It´s a lot more scarier than some horror with tentacles growing from it´s eyes, or some axe swinger that only uses that as a scare factor.

It´s not the scariest though. And doing favorites does not do much justice to the subject.

Argh! Someone please merge this topic! There have been so many threads like this already. Too bad you did not posted in them, if you wanted to discuss the subject with the other experts. ;-)

We already have a few really good ones. Search for them if you haven´t already, restore them to their former glory. Ha, ha.
