Mercer or Heller
Which Prototype protagonist do you prefer? Also, which Prototype game do you enjoy more than the other?

Prototype 1, and Alex Mercer. The abilities he has access to and his clothing style, to me, just blow Heller out of the water.

Heller is pretty cool man, but we all know that paper plane looks the best.
Alex in the first Prototype.

I didn't really like Heller or Alex in P2.

Ah, one of my favorite games to play! Really enjoyed Alex Mercer's background. On top of that, the first game had a bit more detail to its gameplay mechanics, several little things like being able to perform executions on civilians and a slower consumption animation.

Also had stuff like wall climbing, which was nice for just roaming around the environment.
It's hard to deny the power and "one-hit" kills for the second game though + the graphical updates. I still find myself going back to the first game despite that.

I hands-down agree the free-running in Prototype 1 is superior by far. Along with that, the upgrade system and mission structure in 1 makes me prefer 1 over 2 on most any given occasion.

Never played the first and the second was alright.

I can't remember the protagonist being memorable.

I think that's more to do with the lack of character development and the fact that the character was a typical protagonist. All I knew was that he was soldier, didn't have a clue about his story.

Yeah, one of the little details I didn't include is the subtle destruction added from vehicles and free-running. Just a lot of little things, including the powers applied from power wheel. Guessing this topic could apply as a recommendation lol. If there's one thing I like about both, it's how the story carried over from the first into the second.

That's pretty all that Hellers story was. He was a soldier, lost his family and he was really angry about it.

Let's not even get started on the number of fire escapes I have accidentally demolished over BOTH games.

That's another big problem I have with Heller. He is essentially just...anger. Look no further, period, end of story is how he felt to me.

Yeah, they skipped any sort of character development at all for Heller. Alex in the first game is great because you get to learn all of the backstory along with him as you progress.

I have always wanted to check out the first game because the character is much better for what I have heard but I have also read the game has issues on Windows 10.

They released them both on PS4. P1 is really worth a try.

Are they remastered?

Every now and then I imagine being able to play as Alex Mercer in the second one, with the full arsenal and mechanics from both games (Some of the stuff Mercer could do in the second game was pretty cool to me). I can dream lol

I think they were listed as remasters, but I didn't notice any difference.
