The member you quoted cited the PS Vita as the only alternative to the Nintendo Switch.
You can play games without buying a handheld console nowadays.
Since BOTW 2 is on the way, it'll probably be way more affordable for ya when the time comes.
Highly disagree with this. The 3DS was far more popular than Wii U. 3DS games like Story Of Seasons And Monster Hunter 4 weren’t even for Wii U. The games have always been popular on Nintendo and their handheld lines have always been popular. Sony has tried many times to be as successful as Nintendo and they haven’t.
Who said I’m a fanboy ? I can’t stand Nintendo fanboys and they are the very worst of any video gaming brand. You think Steam or Epic or Microsoft or Sony fanboys are bad ? They have nothing on Nintendo fanboys. Nintendo treats customers like ♥♥♥♥ and they don’t care and will defend them no matter how illogical they are being.
I’m buying Switch: Lite for the games and the convenience. I want to chill in my gaming chair or in my bed and play some Switch games. The newest console I own is Wii. It took me many years to get into it and I have all of Nes and SNES on it with the Mini controllers.
I enjoy Wii, but never played the U. Since it bombed fairly quickly, I was waiting to see how Switch fared. When I saw it’s done phenomenal, I decided to wait a few years for an upgraded version with a more established library. 1, 2 Switch was the ballsiest move Nintendo has done and of course it sold well lmao. A $60 tech demo launch game. Now that the majority of the Wii U library has been ported over and there’s amazing Switch exclusives like Super Mario Maker 2, the timing is right.
Otherwise, I wish Nintendo would break down and sell software for PC like Sega did.
Although, as with most new hardware, I am seriously debating waiting until I find out how broken it is.
Nintendo hasn’t been in the power game since Wii. That’s when they concentrated on being different. There was good and bad in this decision. Mainly it was them not only sacrificing power, but they shunned third party games for a long time.
They showed promise with the U and then they again chose to back off from third party support. When they did agree, it was underwhelming. Having the ability to play AC 3 and Mass Effect 3, but not the earlier ones was a terrible business decision. People starting those games would be absolutely lost in the story as they were the ending to each story arc.
The Switch has done far better with welcoming games like Doom, LA Noir, Skyrim, Mortal Kombat 11, and many other games. If someone only had a Wii or Wii U, they missed out on tons of games and many owners of Wii had to have a second console or a PC to play more games and that’s bad business no matter how you look at it.
R* has showed that they are willing to give Switch a chance with LA Noir. I’m hoping to see GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 Nintendo Switch ports. R* said that “they are looking into the possibility of porting their two recent games for Switch”.
As for Sega. Bad business making destroyed them. I highly doubt you will see them in the console business any time soon. They actually are finally in the green these days too.
