what is the point of begging ?

on steam i mean , just had a player who added me , only spoke spanish or mexican at first and then tried begging in english

asides from the fact i blocked them because i have a clear rule saying dont beg , i just cant understand it , why would you go to strangers on the internet and hope you get games ? best case you just get blocked worst case you might get scammed too

People just want games and don't care how they look, I guess. I had one "friend" who added me and would talk, but after that he only came to me when he wanted to ask for games. Gifted him a few, but when you say "but you've only given me these games on my wishlist", that's an automatic block.

To answer your question, because they are lazy and don't take the time to get a job and buy their own games. Or mummy and daddy refused to give them money, so they go on steam and try their luck. Ignoring them is the best way to deal with such people and if they're agressive just block and report them.

it just makes no sense to me , i often beg my grandaunt if i am low on Cash but i feel bad for doing it and wouldnt take alot cash either ( i am already be super happy if i get 100€ from her ( she is generous but it just feels wrong)

the thing that puzzles me is why they think it would work , a complete stranger adding me , not even bothering checking my languages , writing in some other language and then begging , i gift away so many games to friends they told me i should be more careful and that they are really thankful etc , just dont beg for it , if i see you as a friend i will know what games you like or want , and then ofc i can gift a friend a game on sale

it just amazed me how someone can be so desperate to add someone and just start begging when the person has it in the top part of their rules that you shouldnt beg ( its even a rule for adding me , someone begging on my profile comments wouldnt even get accepted

i would honestly just feel like sh*t if i went add many people on Steam and try getting a game until i get one that gifts it to me

would rather go donate Blood (or not since im not allowed to donate Blood due to a few reasons) theres just always someone you can borrow money from ( worst case a bank)

i am still going to school , all 474 Games i have on steam were bought with pocket money (or in 2017 with some money i got from a small job searching thing ( idk how to say it exactly)

and if a poor (my family is far from rich) transgirl can afford lots of games why cant others just save some pocket money , go to work or do other things that gets you money ? i know they are unlucky because they llive in a poor country , but thats not my fault

I even save my money from my allowances back then when I was kid. These guys just doesn't know how to invest and they're taking an advantage from someone and have high hopes for charity. Isn't it feel good when you work hard on something you get?

I don't believe there is an excuse for begging. There are a variety of F2P games to play that don't require you to spend anything if you don't want to.
If someone desperately needs money then it's as simple as working for it and saving it until you have enough to purchase whatever you want.
If they're not willing to put in the hard work, no-one should be funding their laziness. Even my six year old understands this concept just fine.
