Why don't guys hug each other?

Why don't guys hug each other? Whenever they do it always seems to be a man hug, you know the handshake that transitions into a hug-like, semi-embrace that lasts for like a second. Or if they properly hug it's seemingly only during a really special occation. Ofc, not everyone is this way but in general this seems ot be the matter.

It depends, if it's something very emotional, I WILL hug my friends, very tight, but in normal days I do every body motion except long hugs.
I litterally loop around them, jump around, highfive, brofist, etc... But I don't hug unless it's a special circumstance.

And you girls don't see us do that :P

I don't know man, I grew up as a single girl in a group of 10 guys and we've stayed as a group for nearly 20 years now and I haven't really seen them hug unless it was something very emotional as you said. Otherwise it's just like these small acts of affections, like you described. Yet everyone hugs me. It's just kinda weird.

because guys deem it unmanly and therefore don't do it because it gives the wrong impression to whoever he is trying to hug and the guy would feel like a wimp or sissy for trying to be intimate with another man.

I don't hug woman as well as blokes. Not because I'm gay, as I really don't give a s**t. I just not a touchy feely kind of person.

That "man hug" you speak of is generations old and has been angled perfectly so that neither face or genitalias don't come into contact between two men. Judging by your profile and bio, you probably tried hugging a straight man and got rejected or got the "man hug".

Because men are supposed to be stone hearted and masculine and not show any emotion (including love - even if its platonic) or some other such nonsense.

personally, I don't give a ♥♥♥♥. I hug my best friend who is a dude everytime I see him, because I dont see him often. I dont give a ♥♥♥♥ what people think.
