Subway bread isn't actually a bread

I read that on the news. In Irish law bread has to have 2% sugar or less to avoid tax. Subway's dough has 10% sugar. Naturally Subway's response is 'we call it bread, so you have to too'. There was a linked article from last year about Subway being forced to pay back workers it had underpaid. So Subway's attitude is 'we don't taxes or workers'. No surprise from an international corporation, as they themselves used to admit, they go international to avoid national laws.

Well just for future reference, making two posts calling the court morons is a good way to make yourself look like the one taking it too seriously. Anyway, have fun.

For future reference, making two post calling the court moron, is a good way to call the court a moron two times. If you think I'm taking it seriously then you don't know what an American is.

So, cake is bread?

Reminds me of the Jaffa Cake argument for tax reduction
and the food store is not even in a subway.
They really want that tax money badly.
Well.. technically they ain't wrong. Bread is high on carbs. And carbs turn into sugar
so subway bread is sub-bread?
Hurray, cake sandwhiches!
The bread is a lie?
This requires more testing.
They can call it not bread all they want. Doesn't make it any less bread.
its nasty and full of chemicals too.
Subway is old news. Who cares. It's no secret that sugar is used in many products where people don't commonly expect it.

How about Beyond Bread?
Guess this news isn't so sweet for some.

Remember when they got called out for their "footlong" sandwiches being only 11 inches? Ah, man.
