Too bad it's just a bandage on a festering wound. What we need is for people to stop playing fortnite.

Let us blindly promote the requirement for the Steam client to access games over anything purchased via a competitor. :okey:

Nobody in here has promoted Steam.

Apple phones can't get their apps anywhere except the apple store. That's the problem.
we can just delete the apple users if we all band together

1. In the United States, Apple has close to a 50% market-share of mobile devices, Android beats it by a bit, but it's close to 50/50. Apple won't ever disappear from the mobile market, no matter how much Epic Games wishes, Apple is simply far bigger than Epic is.

2. Epic Games tried to do their own store on Android, it kinda flopped as the Play Store is simply the go-to store for most devices as it's pre-installed and is almost always the default. Also, installing another App Store yourself, while not complicated, is not something most people will go out of their way to do, especially when Google puts a big warning that says "We Can't Guarantee this Store is Safe like the Play Store is" right before you install it. To put it simply, Apple's App Store is the only Store on iOS, and Google's Play Store is the default store on Android that warns you of potential safety risks if you go to other stores, and both hold a commanding market-share on their own platforms, with the App Store being the only store for iOS and Android's Play Store being the go-to for most everyone.

3. Epic Games intentionally broke the rules to set up a frivolous lawsuit, IMO, Apple is completely in the right for banning them, same deal with Google. Epic Games isn't as big of a company as the other software giants on mobile apps are, they're no Amazon, Netflix, or the like. While Unreal Engine is big, it's for developers, not actual consumers, their only consumer offering on mobile is Fortnite, which, while popular, has been declining for a while now, especially now that it's no longer the only major BR on mobile, Call of Duty is stealing it's spotlight there, just as Warzone and Apex have on consoles / PC. My point is, their main app targeting customers is diminishing, whereas big streaming services, shopping apps, and the like are MASSIVE and can basically brute force their way onto a platform on favorable terms as they're too big to lose. Fortnite isn't too big to lose, at least for Apple or Google, Epic might hurt from it, but Apple and Google will both go on without much harm at all.

Doubtful. Microsoft as of right now only offers a few games on the Epic Store, none of which are exclusive (thank God), but Microsoft literally announced a sort of partnership with Steam, y'know, Epic's main competitor in PC Gaming, to bring their games to Steam and the MS Store. Even with that, Microsoft isn't selling Steam games on the MS Store, they're offering their own games on Steam now, while offering GamePass as the main advantage of their service. No Store to my knowledge sells games from competing stores, unless you count key-resellers, but those aren't really client stores, so I don't think they're a fair comparison.

The only thing Microsoft did in support of Epic was defend Unreal Engine because they use it for certain things, and Apple threatened to kill it off iOS, which would've done major financial damage to Epic as that would've made Unreal Engine less attractive to developers on mobile, and damaged their reputation as a company for willing to risk their primary audience (developers) just to pursue a frivolous lawsuit that they really didn't need to do in the first place. Basically, they tried to rock the boat, the boat rocked them.

I nobody really. Just person that play games. I hope that people play games that they like and that they buy what capture their interest regardless of developer name or publisher brand. :)

I am happy. I don't like Apple, but I don't hate Apple as much as I hate Epic Sweeney.
Unfortunately I just feel that the playerbase from Apple devices for a game like that is amongst the smallest if not the smallest so unfortunately I think it is not such a big loss for Epic... but still much better than nothing.
I is a first step. I hope every other company will contribute to destroy them too. I know for now I cannot expect much but a man can dream right?
(wet dream :P)

I imagine Epic will ultimately win in the end.

Apple is already under some scrutiny with how they curate their store.

But all o this was clearly planned by Epic. A week or two before their big launch, they whip out the store in clear violation of their contract. That day Apple turns it off, and Epic "magically" has a whole ad campaign ready to tear into Apple.

I'm not an Apple fanboy, though I trust them more than Google. And I'm definitely not an Epic fan. But I'm personally fine if Apple wants to force people to use their "trusted" payment system instead of letting any Tom ♥♥♥♥ and Harry to build in their own less-secure store.

I'm not saying Epic's store is unsafe, AT ALL, I'm just talking about the precedent of letting them do it so they would have to let sketchy groups do it too. Stopping THAT from happening saves Apple and the Consumer various headaches

Android & Google was built on an Open Mobile Market
iPhone & Apple was built on an Apple Mobile Market

I'd rather go with Android Both Markets area somewhat close
to each other, neck, & neck for which is better. Apple is somewhat
better, but not by much. However, the fact that Android is an Open
Market makes a world of a difference here.

You have a much bigger Market to work with, & aren't told what
you can & can't use on their Devices.

While IPhones are nice, & Apple has somewhat decent Products,
I prefer a much more Open Market over their more closed in Market.

However, if it was me? I'd get rid of both Companies. I actually like
the more Black Jack & Black Berry Market myself, I just don't like that
the Key Presses are too small for my hands to work with. So for me,
I just don't have a Mobile Market that works for me yet, I guess.
