SWTOR. You can handle most of the individual storylines solo by simply following and playing the missions. You only have to grind if you want to do some of the other missions or the Operations.

You can play any MMORPG casually if you skip the group content and you are satisfied with not having the best gear (or anything even close to it), many mounts, achievements, cosmetics, etc. If you are a complementist and collector, or want to see every bit of content, then no MMORPG offers that. They are all designed to keep you playing, obsessively and complusively.

Why not play a MMO-like single player game instead? Skyrim, The Witcher 3, Kingdoms of Amalur, Sword Art Online, etc.?

unmodded oblivion is better than skyrim ...but skyrim has several awesome mods so it wins

I can not count that. Should not count mods to say a game is better then another game. When basing a game off of two it should be based off the base game not what others made.

That being said While I like Doom 1 and 2 it is not all that without mods now adays. Duke Nukem 3D/64 can still stand on its own though I feel.

MMO-like in the sense of an open, living world, respawning monsters, fetch quests, etc. MMORPGs have a certain feel to them, and some single player RPGs (try to) capture it so that you get the good parts about MMORPGs without the bad parts (the people :p).

I didn't care for Oblivion, but that was because of the scaling monster levels. Skyrim had the same issue, but there were mods for it (probably for Oblivion too). Morrowind would be my favorite game in the series, but with the graphics so dated I hesitate to recommend it.

Im just looking for a game where I can still kill epic bosses, find groups easily, get loot, and still feel connected to other players somehow. I played the division and the grind wasnt all that bad took me one week to get to T5. If you can find a game that has a similar feature to LFR like in WOW and I don't need to have a sub than you have my attention.

why ? mods are part of the fun
and imo tes would just be an average rpg series without mods
