Best game NOT on steam?

We all know the best games are on steam, but if you had to recommend a game not on steam what would it be?

For my answer I would have said an NHL game because I've always wanted that on PC but also EA has no idea what they're doing, and I don't really know of any good games not on steam but I would say "escape from tarkov" looks somewhat promising for a beta
