How are memes funny?

Am I the only one that dont find them funny at all? Like I don't understand my friends at college will show me meme after meme and i don't even smile or that sad nose breath laugh, I just don't understand how it's viewed as comedy? Maybe I'm just more mature but I'd rather watch real comedy like bill bur or another comdian.

Memes not necessary funny, its more like viral catchphrase in graphics. Or mediavirus. Or something like that. One idiot made something and posted it, 10 more idiots copied it because find it funny, 10x10 more idiots copy that thing... viral thing. Like cancer. Digital cancer.

Well, not really digital or graphic if think about it a little. There's memes like Zionist Occupation Govermant, Zone-51, duckface, Soviet Russia etc.

Anyways, comedy memes works same with jokes. If you're not related to whats meme talking about, its just a stupid picture.
