Switch Pro Controller only works when connected to charger (charging, and not connected to pc!)

So yeah, i'm computer illiterate, and i'm trying to get my switch pro controller to work via bluetooth dongle so i can play from my couch on the tv. So i've been able to pair my controller and it works "wirelessly" as long as it's connected to it's charger, but once i remove it from charging it just stops working... anyone able to help me out how to fix this ? :/ Also, just to clarify, it's not connected to my pc when it's charging.

Did you enable controller settings through Steam? Did you update your bluetooth's drivers in device manager?

So i enabled pro controller in steam and also running in steam full Big Picture Mode and i got the drivers from the makers webpage (asus USB BT400 adapter). I've been using my ps4 dualshock4 v2 controller which works. But it's connected to a charger and not my PC (the pro controller) so it should not work at all even so ? hope my english makes sense!
