And he is still a young and he will soon get out of that phase when he gets older just like me.
13-17 wasn't my proudest moments.
The problem is that he's becoming something people call weeb/weeaboo and that's the most annoying thing you can imagine and one of the reasons people look down on the fanbase.
You shouldn't force him to stop or it may result in the opposite. Just give him a bit time and he'll maybe see he's just childish. Take him out and do some activities with him. Show him that you're a brother he can look up to.
At 15, someone who is a full on anime otaku and can't turn it off, especially at school, is probably in for a rough time (i.e. getting bullied/picked on). Especially as that's a time when many teens, especially boys, really start putting those childhood things behind them, something anime will most likely be viewed as.
Now I'm not saying he has to completely hide it, but it sounds like he needs to be a lot more subtle about it. Like keeping a small thing visible like a picture* in his notebook cover or some other small thing for other anime fans to spot.
* But no scantily clad anime girls, especially ones that look underage. That's just asking for a whole different world of trouble. As a D&D player in the 80's, I was very careful of what kind of art I might put in my notebook cover, and always avoided the chainmail bikini (or similar) pictures.
but like i said , do it calmly when i read your title i just expected some bait to get a flame war started
he doesnt need to stop enjoying anime or anything just tell him that its bad to say things just because he hears them in a show
its important to not start the conversation with anything thats anti Anime , wether you like them or not isnt important , he just needs to stop his bad habbit , just calmly tell him how stupid he looks while doing it
maybe you should show him some Sports anime so he starts actively doing sports himself ?
Knock some sense into him
yep , most anime fans arent accepted that well , thats why its best to just act normal in Public ( on anime Cons i would always go participate in a karaoke contest or even try playing with a dancepad ( saw one at a con in october) and if i see someone who has nice cosplay i always ask them if i can take a photo ( i am way too shy to do that outside of a con , im quite shy , i also rarely mention i like anime , but on a con i know others are anime fans aswell so i go full weeb there)
Sit on a hill with the sun setting
Then shoot him in the back of his head.
