Is there a pointless school subject?
I've been wondering this. I am homeschooled so I will ask those who went to school; Is there a subject that's pointless, you'll never use and is just boring?

P.E.

when you are very young, you learn the alphabet (ABCDE...).
when you age a little, you are introduced to a new set: P.E.
when you got college, you are likley getting a B.S. or B.A.
when you want to become a doctor, you need to pass medicine and get an M.D. degree...

what is wrong with these letters?
even at the point of death, you still get R.I.P. on your stombstone!!!!

Gym classes.

Our professor was the most chill guy in existence, and he'd let us do whatever we want. We were spending that time studying something else, or just messing around.

Math above standard algebra. I always hated math as a kid, although now that I have a better appreciation for it.

However, for 8 out of 10 people, they will never use something like Calculus. I'm not saying remove it, of course, but the educational system should realize that most people will not use advanced algebra and calculus in their life; so don't waste their time and energy trying to learn something they're going to block from their minds as soon as they don't have to use it.

And on the subject of math, I wish that when people said "if you want to make video games you'll need to know math" were a bit more specific. "You'll need to know physics if you want to make your own engine; geometry will be useful for advanced level creation; etc."

Edit: Also

Nothing I can call useless in my education. Even home economics has its use.

Yes, sure, I am not using most of that stuff professionally, but it's still useful to know. More knowledge is always better than less knowledge.

History has been fairly useless in my life.

In my free time i study different genre's of hentai,I am a self-proclaimed hentai professor.Studying hentai requires a deep understanding of math and astro-physics,as well as French language. If my school didnt educate me on these subjects,i would never reach such heights.

At least I know what the powerhouse of the cell is and how to scare your pet with a recorder.
I will say gym on the caveat that it should be graded on participation as opposed to how quickly you can do something. I actually enjoyed it in college.

Agree. I always almost fall asleep during it.

As much as I like the subject of history. I wouldn't say that the average person really needs to know beyond basic history. Then again: "Who are you, that do not know your history", and yes I'm quoting Fallout NV.

Well for the average person, algebra becomes useless upon graduation.

Back when I was a kid the answer mostly on essays was just telling how amazing god is. Which is just plain dull.

"Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it"

Incorrect.

They're doomed to have their butts kicked by the nerds who did learn from history.

Plus it comes in handy on quiz shows.
