Aside from that, Mai does have personality regardless. She can be a bit vain, but also cheerful. However she has an obsession with Andy Bogard. It's not much personality, but it is there, which makes your point moot.
Valentine is a possibly psychotic nurse who is the last surviving member of a faction called the Last Hope. She created Painwheel. Her motives are more or less her own, and self-preservation, but ultimately has good intention and emotions, that she hides. She is also shown to be capable of concern for others, as was seen with the Last Hope and the No Man's Land survivors. And that's just a PORTION of her.

Taki puts her mission above else. She is fighting against evil in her own way. However has concern for those connected with Soul Edge, like Sophitia. In Soul Calibur V she took an apprentice, because of her own percieved failure to stop something in time, but will do what is necessary if the seal with the demon in Natsu were to break.
