Dark Cloud 2 is available on PlayStation Now, you'll need a dualshock 4 controller (from a PS4), hook it up to your PC and then you can play Dark Cloud 2. PSNow is like $9 a month with the option to pay $60 for a year, and is cloud gaming.

Thanks for the suggestion fam!

Dark cloud 2 is kind of unique, there's not many games like it... I would almost maybe consider Diablo 3 an isometric type of game similar to Dark Cloud 2, but it's not the same action gameplay and dodging/targeting system.... Final Fantasy XII(on Steam) has real time combat that's pretty fun.

i really like the whole, go grind for your town type of gameplay. Sort of like Recettear? i have never played the first or second one but something similar to that.

Rune Factory comes to mind then, but I think that's exclusively on Nintendo.

Do you know any modern games that are similar?

Dark Cloud is an action-rpg where you build a village and go to dungeons, am I correct?

this game here is similar

it is super niche, i think that is why i have always thought back on it/want to play things that are similar.

The original NNK is available on Playstation Now as well, so if you wanted to try it out, you could pick up the free trial and see if it's something you'd like, the only barrier being needing that dualshock 4 controller.

ni no kuni 1 doesn't have village building (kingdom building, in ni no kuni 2) like ni no kuni 2

you play ni no kuni 1 and you think about pokemon
you play ni no kuni 2 and dark cloud/suikoden comes to mind

Welp, my bad, I never played any ni no kuni, never really looked appealing to me.

BTW Rancit0, I dunno if you know how things work on steam, but wait for the steam sale. You can buy that game 50% off (maybe more)
