ebooks are an abomination.

Visit Half-Priced Books or a library and take in the heavenly smell of the real thing. If you absolutely must have digital, use archive.org and projectgutenberg and librivox.

Ignore the movies. They range from just okay to total dumpster fire. Sir Hopkins should be ashamed for going along with what they did to the 3rd movie. (4th if you count the original Manhunter)

This will surprise you but, Discworld series.

Sure it seems like just another run-of-the-mill fantasy thing, but once you peel off that first layer, you're going to get a lot of very apropos social critic.

This. To be a true nerd, you have to be able to quote Sir Pratchett and Douglas Adams and the Monty Python lads at the drop of a hat. And mark May 25th on your calendar.

As I've said before, Godel, Escher, Bach should be required reading for finishing highschool or entering college.

Also, https://pdfs.semanticscholar.org/a2d7/062dbfb462b9a6adc823480710bbb6cef7b0.pdf and http://www.metaphysicspirit.com/books/Simulacra%20and%20Simulation.pdf

Then, get into William Gibson and Shirow Masamune.

Mark my words, this is the future.

E-books are not books at all. One flick of your index finger and your twenty pages further.

Go to audfans.com and sign up, it's free, put in your preferences and their computer will spit out some recommendations as often as you want, it's usually pretty accurate, or has been for me.
