What will happen with Denuvo protected games (Resident evil 3, Red dead 2) after servers gone?
These games hardwired to be always connected to internet to play singleplayer. So years later after servers shut down, these games will just disappear forever - like dead MMORPGs and nobody won't be able to play it?

You won't be able to play them anymore.

So either stop buying Denuvo-protected games, or pray to God that they never go out of business.

Same thing that happened to the Mac version of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
The product that people paid for becomes unusable.

It won't stop some from playing it by other illegal means, but i strongly suggest against it obviously. But yeah, Denuvo was a bad idea from the start, it's never been a good copy protection software and this limiting factor of having it omni-present in game softwares to keep it protected was always the main draw back.

either hope the developers pull denuvo out of their games or wave goodbye to it, forever.

Based on past trends, Capcom will remove it from RE3 when the next RE game comes out

well its like xbox live, when live is dead for 360 u r f'd because you have to be signed in and online to play them

Oh noes. Game devs attempt to have a copyguard on their brand new games and that makes the games a tiny bit slower than the cracked ones. ♥♥♥♥ Denuvo.

That sucks - specially for smaller companies - cause its rare to have billion dollar servers like Steam (that still provide multiplayer for Half life 1998)

Not true, they tend to remove Denuvo after some years.

i doubt you can even play it illegally cause its still will be demanding dead denuvo (i bet they made it like part of the game - it wont run without it.)

Some companies do. Others, not so much.

That's actually incorrect. After a one-time activation, you can play Denuvo-protected games offline as long as you want, provided there aren't any major hardware or operating system changes that may make the protection think your system changed. If Denuvo went out of business, most publishers/developers will remove the protection. IIRC, this is just propaganda started by software pirates trying it making it easier to steal games.

Denuvo is the worst thing imo as it requires that your online 24/7 and if your not online then oof gg

You'll do what you must to make them playable. That's what'll happen, just as everyone does now.

I'd get a version without Denuvo.

Stop spreading misinformation, Denuvo can absolutely tank performance. Assassins Creed Origins still runs like rancid ♥♥♥♥ because of Denuvo, I've played it with Denuvo removed and the difference is night and day, the freezing and stuttering is gone. Same with RAGE 2, once Denuvo was removed, the performance issues disappeared. I cannot fathom why some people insist on defending Denuvo, are you just trying to be a contrarian?

I understand from their forum that it's once in two weeks that you have to connect.
