I have to survive 2 weeks with 100 bucks.
If any of you have been through something like this, how did you or would you spend the last remaining 100 dollars, to last you for two weeks?

My work had temporarily gave leave to all personnel, without pay, due to covid19. This was 4 months ago.

I don't pay rent thank god and my car's been paid off. No kids. No gf/wife, just me.

I've been burning through my savings ever since and the $1,200 stimulus check is gone, unemployment pay just extended but it's mainly covering my insurances and utilities. Really bummed about my savings going up in flames but whatever.

My work has told me they will allow us back at work at home this time, with immediate advance pay for certain employees which includes me. But in 2 weeks.

I only have 100 dollars left. I'm low on food stocks and gasoline.

If you were me, and you only had 100 dollars, how would you spend the remaining money to ensure that it lasts?

Seriously tho I doubt you are in that situtation and it's most likely some kind of an experiment.

100 bucks for two weeks is plenty, assuming you have no rent and utilities to pay. Just keep yourself fed, that will be your only expense. Which you can totally do below 10 bucks a day.

I would, but I know it's not funny *sobs uncontrollably*
Since you have no job at the moment then use your car only to get food then let it set that will save a ton of gasoline as long as you get enough food for a week instead of going everyday.

Shouldnt be problem if you have at least rudimentary cooking skills and manage to cook spaghetti, potatoes, porridge etc.
It's definitely doable! I would most likely spend the money on staples like eggs, oats, and other cheap but nutritious food and look for stuff on a discount that's about to expire. Also cooking things that go further like various pasta dishes.

Damn man, that's rough. Well definitely don't buy any games. Don't buy anything you don't need. Go to the cheapest grocery store in your area. Stock up on ramen, kool-aid packets, chips and cereal. Basically the cheap groceries that provide the best bang for buck.

Make a grocery list too, so you know what to get when you go to the grocery store and don't spend money on stuff not on the list. Also look for any coupons before you go. Look up extreme couponing for tips. Some people are able to get $100 grocery trips down to $10 with enough coupons, but you won't need to go to these lengths probably.

Buy bread, ham and cheese. That will have to do. Don't go anywhere, or spend anything. If you have bills, pay as much as you can, Rent? Do the same.

Okay thanks all. I agree that food is priority. I guess I'm too used to buying too much stuff from the groceries, I just couldn't see it lasting me for more than half a week and I was in a panic mode for the last few days.

Usually my grocery choices don't even last that long either. This was an important lesson for me.

past all the bills and taxes, i usually have about £60 to spend on food shopping and in this day and age, food shopping is expensive.

i used to get fresh produce from the local shop in the nearby village, every week, i'd turn it all into food i can eat, usually i'd put it all into multiple big pans, they'd turn into stews and soups and other means, i'd freeze it after cooking and make sure they would be in portions so i can eat them, enough to last the week at least, but with covid-19, i've resorted to online food shopping.

The online aspect has made my life a bit more difficult on what i can get, but i usually have just enough to make the week. however i've sacrificed on extra stuff and spent most of what little i have on the side for more food so i have enough for several months in case of an unforeseen situation.

this is what i've had to put up with the last decade and a bit. it gets incredibly tight at times, sometimes to the point i have ration food by cutting back £10 or so because a bill is slightly more expensive than usual.

Oh yeah definitely expensive. I'm gonna have to opt for cheap longlasting option, like a cylinder of oats and bag of potatoes and bread, and maybe cereal. Hopefully it lasts me, and I have leftover money to spend as an emergency...

I can get by with as low as 20€/week.

Buy cheap raw food and cook things yourself. If you can get filler, get it.

Only use your vehicle for when you NEED it. If you can walk to your destination then do so instead of wasting gasoline.

That is moe than enough for 2 weeks. you could live from pretty good food for that amount actually. Like good veggies, great meat, etc.

As other suggest a good buy is Pasta, cheap frozen veggies (if you have a freezer) and cheap meat for a few of the days. You can freeze those pasta meals as well (you will have plenty of left over)

Bread is cheap too, sometimes cheese/meat slices are as well.

I have lived for alot less, when I was a student long long ago. I still got to eat proper food, even beef, chicken, etc. Just don´t over buy stuff you don´t need.

Staples. Honestly I've been eating a lot of knorr package meals because they are shelf stable. You can get a 40 ounce tub of margarine for under two dollars, and it's essentially knorr packet, margarine, and water.

It's a damn sight better than ramen somehow. Canned soup is another big one when money is fleeting.

Hot dogs if you're not too picky on the brand, but hot dog buns mold fairly quickly in some environments.

I'd say my food budget is about $40 a week, the things that bite in are condiments like mayonnaise. Soy sauce is cheap as hell.

Sometimes I resent the hell out of the dollar tree that came to my neighborhood. My car got stolen the week they opened, and it never came back.
