It is set up the way you want though.
Read the Labs page again. It tells you where it is filtered.
Most places it isn't. I wasn't speaking of any one specific site, but more online in general.
Valve has taken the first step in going against the common way. Trying to set some type of trend for their online community that will hopefully change the way other sites do things.
Beach, two at etc. Be creative.
Bypassing the filter. Not a good look.
That being said, Valve doesn't want angry calls because little Jimmy saw something online that his mother Karen didn't like. Because Karen doesn't want to do her damn job as a parent and would prefer to blame anyone but herself for not being involved in her child's media consumption.
Valve in turn realizes that there are enough people like her to make a dent in their bottom line. Since corporations care only about money - and if you think otherwise I have some oceanfront property to sell you - they in turn will appease anyone and everyone who could be perceived as a threat to said bottom line. This appeasement generally tends to be directed at the mainstream. Which includes people like Karen.
So I understand why they do it, but at the same time I disagree with it and think that parents should just do their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ job instead of letting technology raise their kids for them.
Bypassing the filter is still not allowed.
Wait now... Did i actually say, "get off"? At least two of its synonyms, the filter prevents. This, it doesn't, even though it is a perfectly harmless, completely innocent looking, pair of words. Correctly spelled, even! Philter is so medieval, anyway! Never count on artificial intelligence and programming, for security, protection, or prevention.
I bet you would have loved living in the GDR.
Which IMO offers an interesting subtext on user behavior for future analysis. Interestingly It seems it's still not enough to have a filter toggle, it also has to be disabled for everyone by default.
Correct. The rules have NOT changed despite this new feature.
