Profanity Filter
This post is just a minor rant about something irrelevant and likely unworthy of consideration.

It deeply bothers me that now Valve has decided to apply their profanity filter in people's personal profiles' infoboxes, summaries, and name under the username. Instead of just keeping it where it should belong, the forums and comment sections.

Before on your profile, you could type down any profanity word, and it would not be censored.
And this was never really a problem. For the most part, there was only mild profanity there.
But now they brought those little hearts there, too.

I think this filter is more suited for public forums and comment sections, and that personal profiles should just be left alone.

And now, even that isn't allowed. And it just doesn't sit well with me.
Does this bother anyone else, or am I just being too much of a crybaby here?

Interestingly enough, you can still use a profanity word in your main username.

Regardless. What are your thoughts on this?

it's a sauce that can make your sentence tastier
I don't see the point in sauces either
Do you even enjoy life?!

There's no actual purpose for swearing
it's a sauce that can make your sentence tastier

Only if you have taste-buds made of iron. Just as I don't season my food with filth, I don't season my speech with swear-words.
Profanity is like the dark side of communication. It is a power that some would consider... unnatural.

It's more an unsophisticated and primitive side of communication.

why is it necessary for everyone to be sophisticated? if I'm a primitive monkey for enjoying swearing then so be it 🐒🙊🙊🙊

It's not necessary. Variety is the spice of life. Wasn't me who invented the filter anyway. As long as I am not obliged in one or another way to interact with insufficiently sophisticated people, what they say and do doesn't concern me in the least.

Sauce ruins food.
If you had a burger and put sauce on it then it wouldn't taste like a burger.
Same goes with other foods
a lot of burgers have sauce in them tho
