i always felt the opposite on FC3, it is like the hostiles can spot you even in heavy cover, your subtly attempts are as much use as driving a vehicle off a cliff and watching it explode below next to an active hostile outpost in comparison.
at least in FC4 you can hide and the hostiles have to come out and find you, not to state that you can't be spotted even in cover if they are wound up enough.
FC3 and FC4 require Uplay.
one thing that i like in FC4, is that you can troll those hostile soldiers into the open, if you are particularly sadistic, you can lob some molotovs and crowd them into the center and then listen to their dying screams, like sweet music to your ears. xD
FC3 hostiles just wonder around their camps looking for you spamming their dialogue. even crouched and you are looking at them from cover they will spot you quickly from a distance.
of course in FC4 it isn't really needed after taking most of those propaganda towers, the mg42 will perforate anything in half a dozen hits.
However...
1) I liked the castle element in 4 where there were regional castles that you weakened with each outpost you took or you could take on the castle if you wanted.
2) The Far Cry 4 DLC up in the mountains with the yeti was pretty great. I liked the change that you couldn't just buy new weapons or unlock them via outposts but you had to go find someone that had the weapon or it's location and then it unlocked for you. It was something different and i enjoyed it.
2a) I also enjoyed the base defense that you had to do.
